  1. What’s up with the snare between bars 61/67? the close mics seem to be wrong, but the MIDI snare tracks match what you can hear in the room tracks

    1. I’m sure you can perform a quick edit to fix it up.

      1. “quality mixes guaranteed” the drum tracks are pretty f****d during breakdown 2, yes I’ll just fix it in editing but I still gotta complain lol

        1. How often do you believe you’ll get perfect sessions to mix ? Very rare that it will happen.

          1. We try to deliver one every month 😉

  2. TEMPO PROBLEM………….Just in case anyone has the same problem I thought I’d post this here. In Cubase, import the midi track and let it “create a new project”. Then the tempo will import. If you open a new project and then import the midi track the tempo seems to get ignored.

    1. you gotta turn it on so it follows the imported tempo track, i’m not in my DAW right now and can’t remember what the knob was called but it if you press f2 the window where you can set temp, metronome, punch – in/ – out, etc… it’s the upper right button around the where the bpm is shown (just above where you turn the metronome on and off)

Fellow Cubase users, here is the solution: Go to preferences -> midi -> midi file -> remove the tick on “Ignore Master Track Events on Merge”. Voila, tempo in sync.

    3. Click “File” then “Preferences.” On the left of the window look for MIDI and under it, select “MIDI File” The new menu on the right will have check boxes. Make sure you have “Ignore Master Track Events on Merge” unchecked. That should solve that issue.

      1. Oh…. Now all the replies show up? Sorry for kicking the dead horse, lol.

  3. Curious about the snare verb and bel IR tracks… I’m assuming these need imported into an IR loader or verb plugin? Also the Ahs track has no audio. Just delete or am I missing vocals?

  4. Oh Cory 7 and 8 also no audio

    1. Did they ever explain what the blank audio tracks were meant to be?

  5. Actually I’m finding several tracks now as I’m scrolling through with no audio. Gtr lead DI 2, Crow, reverse snare 5? I boosted the clip gain to the max just to see if there was audio that needed to be brought up and nothing is there…

  6. there are several tracks with no audio

  7. For anyone wondering how to fix the 2:00-2:16 part (marked in my daw with a “what the fuck” maker), the only tracks doing the weird off-time thing are the toms and the snare. I just cut out the toms and snare for those 16 seconds and then copy and pasted some normal snare hits to match what the midi, overheads and room mics are doing. I guess there was an incorrect take accidentally left on the snare and toms for only that section? Not sure, but whatever. It was a pretty quick fix.

  8. whats the tempo of the song in cubase 9.5 it wouldnt let me import?

    1. I have Cubase 9.5 and it worked. Check out the August Burns week and there is a video on there for directions how to import the midi tempo track. Make sure when you do get it to import the sample rate is correct or you will not be able to get it correctly in tempo. It took me forever to figure that out haha

  9. From bar 98.4, the tempo for it all starts going all out of whack and just slightly off and I can’t seem to fix? I am on Logic btw

  10. I am having trouble figuring out how to import tempo from MIDI in Pro Tools. Are there any resources that can help me figure this out? Thank you!

  11. Is the song called Better off Dead or Fall From Grace?

    1. It’s the band Goliath and the song is called Better Off Dead

  12. this is awesome. My Buddy Kevin recorded Drums for this song and he did a youtube drug play through of it! which i mixed for him.

  13. Im really enjoying this session, after you get past the drum issue mentioned above its a fun song:) One question I have though! Im finding the vocals almost “fluttery” im not exactly sure how to describe it, do anyone have any tips on how they handled these particular vocal tracks?
